How To Calculate Your Zakat
Calculating your Zakat is straightforward. First, determine your total zakatable assets, including cash, gold, silver, investments, and business inventory. Then, subtract any debts or liabilities. If the remaining amount exceeds the Nisab threshold (equivalent to 87.48g of gold or 612.63g of silver), calculate 2.5% of this sum. This 2.5% is your Zakat obligation. To simplify this process, use our online Zakat Calculator, which will help you determine your exact Zakat amount quickly and accurately.
What is Nisab?
Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth you need to own before Zakat becomes obligatory. Think of it as the threshold. If your assets (savings, gold, silver, investments) meet or exceed the Nisab for one lunar year, you are obliged to pay 2.5% in Zakat. The Nisab is based on the value of either 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver.
