> Sponsor an Orphan: Turn Their Make Believe into Reality

In a world fraught with uncertainties, global pandemics, conflicts, and natural disasters, the trials faced by an orphaned or vulnerable child seem unimaginable. For them, dreams of safety, love, and learning often feel like make-believe.

But what if you could turn their make-believe into reality?

Every child deserves a chance. A chance to be safe, to learn, to dream. With your help, we at READ Foundation have been making these dreams come true for years. But our aim isn't just to support them temporarily; we strive to empower them to stand independently, armed with knowledge and hope.

When you sponsor an orphan, you're not just providing for their immediate needs; you're offering them a brighter future. You're enabling them to shape a destiny where their dreams are their reality.

> Through your sponsorship, READ ensures:

  1. Education and Friendship: We cover the school fees, allowing children the joy of learning, forging friendships, and simply being a child.

  2. Tools for Success: We provide a backpack filled with essentials like notebooks, pens, pencils, colouring pens, erasers, sharpeners, geometry sets, and crucial textbooks.

  3. Dignity and Pride: Every child deserves to wear a uniform. We offer them a complete set, inclusive of a jumper, shirts, trousers, and sturdy shoes to last the school year.

  4. Holistic Care: Beyond schooling, we support the child's guardian with a monthly stipend, ensuring the child's overall well-being, from shelter and food to clean water.

Additionally, you'll be a part of their journey. Receive regular updates on your sponsored child's academic achievements, personal interests, and holistic development. Celebrate their victories, both big and small, and witness first-hand the transformative power of your contribution.

Our journey began in Kashmir, Pakistan, which is now one of READ Foundation’s longest running programmes.

An orphan is a child without a father or both parents, as one parent would be a source of provision and protection for a child.

We support over 13,000 orphans.

It is in Azad Jammu Kashmir, Pakistan.

  • School fees– the programme relieves families from the burden of paying for schooling so that children can go on to enjoy learning, making friends and being themselves
  • Textbooks and stationary – A backpack is provided, containing a notebook, pens, pencils, colouring pens, an eraser, a pencil sharpener, a geometry set, and textbooks
  • School uniforms – The child is given a full uniform, including a jumper, two shirts, a pair of trousers and two pairs of sturdy shoes for the school year
  • Living costs –The child’s guardian is given a monthly allowance to help with the cost of shelter, food, clean water or any need that arises.

We would like you to sponsor a child for the full duration of their studies. If you donate £360 as a one-off payment however, it will last for only 12 months. We will then contact you each year to renew your sponsorship. We would urge you, however, to set up a monthly direct debit for £30 per month so your sponsorship can continue without annual renewals.
